The Devil Wears Fashion / El Diablo Se Viste A La Moda

 When Reinaldo Guinoqui asked me to make him a photoshoot with his wearing style, I agreed that he'd be interesting for the camera lens. We planned the session and headed to a wide urban metropolitan park in southwest Santiago, Chile. I like some of the visuals depicted here.

Cuando Reinaldo Guinoqui me solicitó hacerle una sesión de fotos con su estilo de vestir, concordé que sería interesante para el lente de la cámara. Planificamos la sesión y nos dirigimos a un amplio parque metropolitano en Santiago surponiente. Me gustan algunas de las fotos retratadas aquí.

This guitar man seems to be Metallica's Lars Ulrich. The energy that he put on when he was playing his guitar was outstanding and first-class. Pure rock energy !!!

Este guitarrista se parece a Lars Ulrich de Metallica. La energía que colocaba al tocar su guitarra era magnífica y virtuosa. Pura energía rock !!!

Ooohh I loved to capture this woman who was dancing on the street. She was listening to a kitsch-style music on a vintage radio cassette and she was out of herself dancing to the people that passed by. Although I tried she didn't notice that I was shooting at her, she noticed indeed.


Ooohh me gustó capturar a esta mujer que bailaba en la calle. Escuchaba música de estilo kitsch en una antigua radio cassette y estaba fuera de sí bailando a la gente que pasaba. Aunque traté de que no se diera cuenta que la estaba fotografiando, se dió cuenta igual.

Hahaha, no comment.

This couple was discussing their problems, aparently when I saw this scene. But what attracted my attention was, them and the sleeping drunk man at close and the couple's man's expression on his face as with resignation of something.

Esta pareja estaba discutiendo sus problemas, aparentemente cuando vi esta escena. Pero lo que atrajo mi atención fue, ellos y el borracho durmiendo cerca y la expresión del hombre de la pareja con cara de resignación a algo.

This woman was at the Santiago's Main Square on a Sunday morning. I shot her just when she was preaching and saying that, literally: "You, sinners and the World !!, if you don't change your inmoral acts and habits on this Earth, you shall go straight down to Hell !!" It paid my attetion the effusiveness that she was preaching to the people gathered around her.

Esta mujer estaba en la Plaza de Armas de Santiago en una mañana de domingo. La capté justo cuando predicaba y decía, literalmente: "Uds, pecadores y el Mundo !!, si no cambian sus conductas y hábitos inmorales en esta Tierra, irán directo al Infierno !!". Me llamó la atención la efusividad con que predicaba a la gente reunida a su alrededor.

My favorite photograph of that day. This woman was talking to her friends on the plaza bench when I passed in front of them and she noticed that I pointed with my camera. She turned to me and I just smiled at her after taking the picture. What else could I do?

Mi foto favorita de ese día. Esta mujer conversaba con sus amigas en la banca de la plaza cuando pasé en frente de ellas y se dió cuenta que la apunté con la cámara. Voltó hacia mí y yo sólo le sonreí cuando tomé la foto. Qué más podía hacer?

These are a gypsy mother and child that I met on the street. Obviously, she came close to me and asked me to "see my luck" and $$, which I avoided to confront her but I didn't miss the chance to capture her without noticing.

Estas son madre e hija gitanas que encontré en la calle. Obviamente, ella se me acercó y me pidió "ver la suerte" y $$, a lo que evité confrontarla pero no perdí la oportunidad de capturarla sin que se diera cuenta.

For some reason, this boy was sitting on this park bench crying. I tried swiftly to caption the scene before their parents didn't realize that I had focused him.

Por alguna razón, este niño estaba sentado en la banca del parque llorando. Traté fugazmente de captar la escena antes que sus padres se dieran cuenta que lo había enfocado.
