40 years have past since the military stroke took place on September 11th, 1973 in Chile. Although I was just a kid for that time, I flash back some events that, 40 years later, I wish that they never happen again.
Many people in Chile, suffered the harshest brutality from a delivish dictatorial regime that longed to be perpetuated in power. Luckily, in 1990, free elections allowed people to come back to democracy, but without before having suffered the most unimaginable atrocities committed in 17 years of horror.
40 años han pasado desde que el golpe militar ocurrió el 11 de Septiembre de 1973 en Chile. Aunque yo era sólo un niño para entonces, recuerdo algunos acontecimientos que, 40 años después, deseo que jamás vuelvan a ocurrir.
Mucha gente en Chile, sufrió la más cruda brutalidad de un régimen diabólico dictatorial que quería perpetuarse en el poder. Afortunadamente en 1990, elecciones libres permitieron a la gente volver a la democracia, pero sin antes haber sufrido las más inimaginables atrocidades cometidas durante 17 años de horror.
Today, the people of Chile can commemorate (not celebrate) 40 years of terror and death, and give a tribute to the hundreds of missing and dead people.
Hoy, el pueblo de Chile puede conmemorar (no celebrar) 40 años de terror y muerte, y entregar un tributo a los cientos de desaparecidos y muertos.
The new present generations will have to learn and, not make the same mistakes of the past, to never let it happen again and they never, ever have to go through what their parents and grandparents had to experience.
Las nuevas generaciones actuales tendrán que aprender y, no cometer los mismos errores del pasado, para que nunca más vuelva a suceder y que ellos jamás, jamás tengan que pasar por lo que sus padres y abuelos tuvieron que experimentar.

I met this afflicted woman on the street, and she asked me with deep anguish, to take a picture to this billboard holding in her hands, to let the others know that these murderers are not still being proccessed and punished by Justice.

Conocí a esta afligida mujer en la calle, y ella me solicitó con angustia, que le tomara una foto a este cartel que sostenía en sus manos, para hacerle saber a los demás que estos asesinos aún no están siendo procesados ni castigados por la Justicia.
This is a tribute, 40 years later, to all those who suffered and those who didn't live to tell the story.
